This is just amazing to me, the housing market is just insane. Interest rates are low low low and this is an opportunity for people to buy a house and make it a home. Renting an appt. is a choice some make, but a house is place where you are the boss, you can paint, remodel, add-on, have pets, be your own man or woman. This of course does not include those 55+ communities or condos, I hate the concept of having rules for someting I own.
With that said, I am selling my old house. People are dillusional, they all want everything perfect and everything given to them. My friend had to leave behind a brand new LG washer and dryer to sway a buyer......... My old house has a range in it that is 15 years old, but works perfect and is absolutely spotlessly clean. I was told to get a more modern range because people like to see modern appliances. Has anyone actually ever tired to clean one of these new porclean range tops, they are a nightmare, idiots see them and think they you just wipe 'em down and bammo instant clean. Why would you throw out an appliance that works perfect?????? Well because my bank is telling me to sell my house so I can afford another one because the buyers today are demanding near perfection. WTF.
Really everyone wants everything for FREE, they don't want to work hard or invest in a property that will take some imagination and some elbow grease. Yeah nobody wants a house that is dirty, but if you don't like the color of the walls, paint them. Unless you are making 6 figures no problem and can afford a brand new house, the reality is you are getting a used one. Moulding gets scratched, carpet wears out, appliance age, this is a fact of life. Saying it is a buyers market is an understatement, it is a market where the buyer gets what exactly what they want with minimal effort or money, that annoys me.
Don't even get me started on Section 8 for people too lazy to work, who collect welfare. I busted my butt most of my life and I see people driving Cadillac Escalades paying for their milk with a WIC coupon. There is something wrong there, to say "not fair" does not even cover the travesty of our system. Whoever the next President is, I hope they address the issue of handouts and free-loaders.
